Meta has launched Muse — an AI agent that can not only recommend a product but also complete the purchase transaction.

Muse itself is designed as a free service. Access is promised via a standalone app, a chatbot in the feed, and WhatsApp. The agent plans trips, books tickets, sends emails, opens browsers, and fills out forms. Each user gets 100 million tokens per week; you can assign a name to the agent.

Under the hood, Muse runs in a separate virtual machine called Muse Secure VM, where user data is also stored. The architecture involved Signal co-founder Moxie Marlinspike, and WhatsApp encryption principles were adopted as well.
