MINCETUR is preparing new rules for gambling advertising in Peru. The main focus will be on risk warnings: their size, font, display duration, and share of ad space. This was announced by the head of the ministry’s relevant department, Yuri Guerra, in an interview with SBC Noticias published on October 20.

According to the official, warnings can currently appear too briefly or be lost due to small text. The regulator wants viewers to have enough time to notice and read them. At this stage, Guerra does not consider it necessary to introduce restrictions on ad placement time.

If the new measures prove insufficient, authorities may consider stricter bans. For now, changes are being prepared: specific parameters and implementation timelines were not mentioned in the interview.

MINCETUR has so far only indicated its intention to make risk warnings more visible. Which requirements will affect ad creatives and how much time will be given for adaptation will become clear after the document is published. We are monitoring updates: it is too early to announce new obligations for advertisers.
